What Kent does

Kent is a cross-platform desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux) built on Electron. Highlight any text, press Ctrl+Shift+Space, and run built-in skills (Define, Summarize, Translate) or your own custom skills against the selection. Kent supports Anthropic Claude, OpenAI GPT, Google Gemini, and fully-local Ollama.

Privacy by design

Cloud Mode: encrypted HTTPS to your chosen AI provider. Your API key stays on this device.
Private Mode: every request runs locally through Ollama. Nothing leaves your machine.
Brain encryption: AES-256-GCM at-rest encryption for your local knowledge graph.
Zero telemetry. No analytics. No data harvesting.

Connected services

Kent connects to your data via Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, Slack, SQLite, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, REST APIs, and any MCP-compatible server. Your connections live on your machine — nothing is replicated to a Kent server.
